Danny’s filming guide

Talk to the camera like one new sales rep is sitting in front of you. Teach the lesson and physically demonstrate it.

Phone setup

  • Use an iPhone.
  • Use the rear camera.
  • Film in landscape.
  • Set the camera to 4K at 24 fps.
  • Put the phone on a tripod at eye level.
  • Use a quiet room and face a window or soft light.
  • Record the raw video. Do not edit it.

Use this format for every video

  1. Say the lesson name and what the rep will learn.
  2. Say the customer-facing script exactly as the rep should say it.
  3. Show every physical step slowly enough to copy.
  4. Show the most common mistake and how to correct it.
  5. End with what the rep must be able to do before using the lesson in the field.

If you make a mistake, stop for two seconds and start that sentence again. Do not restart the whole video.
